The Findlay Family Group of business has been in operation for over 100 years, and is currently in its fourth generation of family management.
Originally a local bread bakery, we grew into the largest plant bread producer on the East Coast of New Zealand. In the 1990’s we further developed into manufacturing Panko bread crumbs, Conventional Breadcrumbs and Batter coating systems.
Our head office is located at the edge of the world in Gisborne New Zealand, along with our Plant Bread and Distribution businesses. Additionally we have our specialist Panko Breading and Powder Blending Plant located in Dunedin NZ. Our Technical Centre is based in Auckland NZ. Our Conventional Breadcrumb and Powder Blending Plant is located in Bathurst Australia.
Two Powder Blending sites were built in Idaho USA to provide Batter Coating solutions primarily to produce specialist coatings for French fries.
Findlay Food Coatings Ltd was established in 2013 to operate in the USA.
Initially we built our Nampa Idaho site in 2013 whilst our large Automatic Plant was being built. Nampa would become the back-up operation to Caldwell.
Our state of the art Caldwell facility was commissioned in January 2015
